Welcome to Kayla's home on the web. We're glad you stopped by to check on her. This webpage was created on Saturday, April 10, 2004. Just two weeks prior to this date, Kayla was having a blast going down the slide and eating her first ice cream on a stick. But at 2:00 AM on Sunday morning, March 28, Kayla's parents were awakened as she was having seizures. They called 911 and Kayla was taken to the East Georgia Regional Medical Center where the staff determined that Kayla had most likely suffered a brain aneurysm. About 7:30 that same morning, Kayla was airlifted to the Children's Medical Center in Augusta, GA. After more tests, it was determined with certainty that Kayla had suffered a brain aneurysm on her left middle cerebral artery.
This page has been created so that you can keep up with Kayla's progress. We will do our best to upload daily updates. We have also established the Kayla Jones Charitable Giving Fund. You can find out more about it by clicking on the "KAYLA'S FUND" link. Finally, when you click on the "CONTACT" link, you will learn about the various ways you can contact Kayla and her family. We hope that this site will help you feel more connected and that it will answer at least some of your questions about Kayla's condition. Please remember to pray for Kayla's recovery and for the Jones family. We have been encouraged by the outpouring of love and support that we have received so far. We hope that you will continue to pray for Kayla until and even after she is completely well.
